15th International Congress of Slavists

National Academy of Sciences of Belarus will host the 15th International Congress of Slavists in 2013

Slavistics (or Slavic studies) examines the origins, development and prospects of the Slavic community.
The new science is gaining ground all over the world. The International Congress of Slavists is a quinquennial event dating back to 1929. Taking part in the congress are famous scholars not only from Slavic countries, but also other countries where Slavic languages are studied. “Therefore, the conduct of the International Congress of Slavists in Minsk will become an important event for Belarus,” the National Academy of Sciences said.

In line with Prime Minister’s Resolution No. 115p as of 7 September 2011, a special committee was set up in Belarus to organize the event. The committee is led by Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Anatoly Rusetsky.
