Il progetto di residenza artistica Ri_Nascite ad Officina Giovani
  • Edited by:
  • Teresa Megale,

The volume reports the theatrical activity of the University Theatrical Troupe and, in particular, tells about the artistic residency project “Ri_Nascite”. The project, funded by the Department for Youth Policies of the Italian Government and by the National Association of Italian Municipalities, was created in collaboration with the Municipality of Prato, and has explored new dynamics as well as strengthened the relationship between the local university and the city of Prato thanks to the university theatrical troupe 'Binario di scambio’ (“The siding”), which made its début in 2007 at the city’s ex-slaughterhouses. The many-voiced book collects original contributions from authors, actors and directors, and makes a reflection on the collective experience which has led to the birth of “Officina”: a key space for juvenile creativity, and a program divided into different activities in order to encourage reflection on the plurality of points of view, the areas of intervention and the objectives around which the possibilities of theatrical language are currently developing. The artistic residency of the theatre group 'Binario di Scambio' between October 2012 and March 2013 has produced four new productions by the young university students, a schedule of meetings, and three more strictly educational workshops, from which safe opportunities for growth and collective awareness have arisen.
